Evaluations
Welcome to the Stony Plain Minor Hockey Evaluation and Team Formation process.
Evaluation schedules are posted below. Please check back often for updates as new information will be posted as it becomes available.
- Evaluations will begin with a scheduled skill skate where your athlete will be evaluated on a series of skills stations that are the same as were set in the prep skate offered. You will be notified in advance of the date, time, and location of this session.
- From here, your athlete will be placed in a group depending on how they scored during the skill skate portion. You will receive communication notifying you when their next session is scheduled which will involve a scrimmage within the group they are in.
- Depending on the evaluator's scores, your child will either stay in the group for the next scheduled scrimmage or they could move up a group or down a group. Again you will be notified when they are scheduled to attend the next scrimmage.
- Similar to the previous step, you will be notified of your athlete's next and last scheduled scrimmage. At the conclusion of this session, your athlete’s evaluation is complete. Based on the evaluation, you will be notified what team your athlete has been placed on for the season.

For U7 evaluations, players are placed in alphabetical groupings for the evaluation Skates.
